Re: Fun with Fencing Masks

Yes, brushes work just fine, and might be easier. I made a stencil out of contact paper and it was a HUGE pain in butt, and if you want more than 1-2 colors I wouldn't bother with a stencil.

Re: ProGauntlets crowdfunding has begun!

Looks like they are nearly there. That is exciting.

Having not only broken a finger, but had the tip split open while using Lacrosse gloves, I am looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Re: Tennis tape grip

I have used tennis tape for a couple of years now. I like the extra grip that it gives me, and it's super cheap and easy to put on. It usually lasts a couple of months before wearing down and starting to peel away. You can get a little extra mileage from it by just taping it when it starts to peel w...

Re: School Necessary For Beginner?

There's no reason you couldn't attend the other school to learn fundamentals (assuming they're good) and work on your own stuff on your own time. This would be my reccomendation as well. You have no idea what you DO NOT KNOW until you start learning. You could certainly start on your own without he...

Re: New hand protection base layer? (Zoombang)

I don't think that these are meant to protect the hands from being hit, they look like they are meant to be worn under a gauntlet or clamshell to give a bit of cushion when you are struck. The clamshell would disperse the energe from the stike, and the padding on these gloves would act as buffer so ...

Re: Pierced mask

I certainly don'g want to start finger pointing or anything, but this is a failure on multiple levels. 1. The person in question should have been aware of the potential hazards of such a thrust. 2. His partner sounded aware, but was hurried and did not have time to properly address the issue 3. The ...

I agree, though he's probably lucky to be alive. I admire his spirit.

Re: Member Perks without being Elitist Jerks

I joined the German American Society recently and they gave me a nifty little pin and an official membership card. I thought it was pretty cool. So I am all for a HEMAA card. I think a HEMAA pin would be all kinds of awesome, even if I had to pay extra for it. I already have the HEMAA patch and love...

No, you most certainly would not. I think they are worth the wait.

If only someone **COUGH**cough**Keith** would become a U.S. distributor of such wonderful items....
