Re: What's this about a "statement"?

This is perhaps too much of a radical fairy tale ending, but why doesn't the HEMAA CC and the USFCA develop a program together? Both organization have insights and members the other lacks. For starters why don't they have a conference call, skype, google hangout. We all know from experience that as...

Re: Darksword Armory is prototyping a federschwert

Well, good news, everybody! Last night, I brought the safety concerns about the schilt to my boss (and, I believe, the head of the design team for this one, although I may be wrong). So, what we're probably going to do is offer two options - the federschwert with the schilt "as is," and t...

The Meyer is Albion, not A&A. ;) I agree though, it's a weird mix of features from the 1560 and 1570, plus other "stuff." Their sharps are very historically accurate but their entire Maestro line has the look and feel of a heavy stage/reenactor influence. These days we know the locati...

Re: Darksword Armory is prototyping a federschwert

Thanks for responding Robert. 2. The pommel will probably be a scent stopper or variation thereof. I'd recommend the "pear" sub-variety 5. Length is a bit tricky, because one of the things under discussion was making it longer. I recall prototype #1 being around 36-37" in the blade, b...

Re: Darksword Armory is prototyping a federschwert

I stand at 6'4", and I'd need a 60" feder by that reckoning. Anything less, and I'll just stay with my tiny 48" Albion for now. Is this Meyer's recommendation, or? If a 48" sword is ideal for someone who is 5'8" wouldn't a 54" inch longsword (not 60") be ideal for...
