Re: HEMA Culture - Shame and Outrage -

I agree with your statement. We made some videos of various longsword techniques for our newbies (you know, film a technique with clean execution a couple of times and then add some explanation in post processing) and for internal use their fine, but if I wanted to upload them publicly they would ha...

Re: Two handed Sword recommendations - training and live

I've been told that Regenyeis Montantes are pretty good: http://www.regenyei.com/en_twohanded_custom.html I know the guy that has ordered the original IV. Montante, who teaches Montante at a german club and he's quite happy with it. He also mentioned that the Black Fencer Synthetic montates are pret...

Re: 2015 HEMA / HWMA Census

I just posted in my usual Facebook groups and boards and I'm going to contact the IFHEMA and see if they're willing to support this cause.

Re: 2015 HEMA / HWMA Census

Although funny you should mention HROARR as this is an HROARR project. I'm fully aware of that, but the last census was very prominently featured on hroarrs starting page and I can't seem to find even a single post on hroarr about it right now. Oh, it was announced all over FB, Google +, and severa...

Re: 2015 HEMA / HWMA Census

If you want to reach the people, this should be spreaded (more) over the usual channels like the HEMA Alliances Facebook group and the various Blogs like HROARR/Encased in Steel.
Also you should probably contact the IFHEMA and see if they can give you some data or forward it to their members.

Re: ap jacket seems too short. really worth it?

I'm looking at the gdansk one and adding a zipper personally. Get the Gdanks Pro , the one with the zipper and the plates, not the Basic Gdansk. The outer layer of the basic jacket tears pretty easily from rough edges, or at least it did in the past when it was even written on the Spes homepage, mi...

Re: ap jacket seems too short. really worth it?

It's too short.
Either get a custom made one or a Gdansk Pro Jacket, it's a good bit longer. I currently own one and I'm over the 190cm mark.

Re: Beginners question about the Schlussel - Help needed!

I always imagined the Schlüssel to be a logical consequence of having the Zornhut. If I move my sword from the Zornhut over my head to the other side I end up in the Schlüssel, this way I can switch between the two guards. Where else would I go instead if I decided not to cut from Zornhut but do a t...

Re: Helmet/mask that I can wear glasses in?

I don't wear glasses so an honest question: Is it wise to wear glasses under your fencing mask when it's regularly trusted into your face and onto your glasses?
Won't they get damaged or can they splinter?
