I think it is helpful to think of Zufechten, Krieg, Abzug as simply Entry, Engagement, Exit - as dealt with in my essay Mass in Medieval German Fighting Arts. :idea:

That documentary was excellent. It also offered the bonus of the uplifting story of the guy who became R-III for purposes of testing the various martial capability theses. Really liked that show about the plausible fighting prowess of a villainous yet brave king.
