Yes, within longsword there are multiple types of fighting, primarily German and Italian, and among other weapons there are many masters and manuals as well. Look up the Wiktenauer and...

Re: HEMA Elections August 2016

I nominate Norman C. Lao. He's a newer student of mine, but incredibly driven and enthusiastic. He would be a good connection to Jonathan Mayshar and myself, and will no doubt bring many new ideas and a hard work ethic to the Council.

Re: Who gets a place at the table?

I have 11 from that list!!! Good points Richard. I want the community to be inclusive and listen to ideas from relatively newcomers, however without some credibility, not all ideas need to be thoroughly explored. I don't care if someone can win an event or be a total badass, there are plenty of ways...

Re: Phoenix Society, Mordhau, Academic Night

While Kron South Coast doesn't have any specific "academic nights" set up before hand, we do go to In N Out after most practices, and that frequently devolves into a little more intellectual conversation. I'd definitely like to spend a little more time looking at the manuals with my studen...

Re: Better 34"-35" training sword than the Rawlings?

The Blackfencer arming sword that I sell seems to be very close to the specs that you desire. I have used many arming swords, and the Blackfencer gets very close to the right dimensions. It is lighter than a steel, but that is to be expected with a synthetic you want to hit friends with. The bind is...

Re: Phoenix Society Charity Event Self-Review

I had an awesome time out there, and I'm really happy you guys set this up. I came away from it really feeling the faults in my fencing, and have lots of new ideas to work on! EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! :D

Till next time, Fremen.

Re: 3227a: Description of Vom Tage is confusing...

The material is difficult to understand. There is no shame in asking questions, because some of them can force us to re-evaluate what we think about certain passages, and why we think that way. It forces us all to stay honest and makes sure that we aren't deviating too far from what was written! An...
