Re: Updating the search function?

I believe myself capable of interpreting such arcane language: Mayshar is the one person who is allowed access to server on which the forum is currently hosted. Right now we are not paying for the server. We could go to a different server, but it would cost money, and this solution works for the mo...

Re: Updating the search function?

No one else has access to the server because it lies in the Realm of the Forbidden. From my understanding, it is guarded by the Dragon of the Information Privacy Act. We've previously talked about moving the server to the Empire of Paid Servers, but as it stands, the Realm of the Forbidden is awkwar...

Re: Safety -- Does HEMA fighters need FIE uniforms?

Olympic fencing in the US doesn't need or require FIE on a local or national level. We do need safety, but I'm not sure the FIE suits those needs.

Re: The GC This Week

Life has gotten ahead of me. Last week had all our councilmen except Harmston. We discussed: 1. Providing tournament fighter seeding info as a HEMAA service via Ben Jarashow's system 2. Paying for our voice server 3. Insurance discussion 4. A quick talk on the HEMAA Safety Policy 5. Getting the HEMA...

Re: "Wind to Ochs…"

Something I have been thinking about for quite a while now is that the phrase "wind to Ochs" is one of the most damaging and unhelpful instructions that an instructor can possibly give to a student. I believe that instructors should take this phrase out of their vocabulary entirely. I thi...

Re: "Wind to Ochs…"

Would you describe this action as "wind to Ochs" though? I would be happy to describe it as "move into an Ochs position while thrusting", but I don't think there is much winding involved. Your phrase "then I thrust into an extended Ochs" makes a lot of sense and explai...
