A man with facial hair is often an outright villain. It also scores extra evil points if combined with a shaven head. A goatee is a staple of Evil Twins everywhere.

I will be scanning to digital and uploading all the scoresheets from all matches, and will update this thread when that is complete.

Out of interest, what was the method used for running a "consolation bracket" as well as the main bracket? This is the first time I think I have seen the concept!

It looks to be basically like a double-elimination tournament, without having the final be between the top fencer in each bracket.

Winner of the winner's bracket gets gold, person who looses in the final round of the winner's bracket gets silver. The winner of the consolation bracket gets bronze.

A loss in the winner's bracket sends you to the consolation bracket, a loss in the consolation bracket and you are out. In Longpoints case they just about always make it so the first round of the winners bracket is also direct elimination, which isn't an intrinsic feature of the design but can be added to make any number of bracket rounds a direct elim instead. (Considerably lessening the number of fights required)

As mentioned it is a modified version of double elim which ends up a little cleaner when you end up with your top 3. In a traditional format after running through all the brackets the two remaining fighters with 0 losses fight, fighter A wins with 0 losses and fighter B (1 loss) goes down to fight fighter C (1 loss) who had already lost earlier in the bracket. The winner of B & C now has one loss and goes back up to fight fighter A and must win twice in a row to win the gold. In a consolation bracket format once you lose once the best you can get is bronze, and it culminates in two finals matches without that little shuffle.
