It happens. Starting from nothing is difficult. We should have a major club meeting soon and include planning for Apple Valley. Will, thanks again for your dynamism -- it's great to have you in SoCal.

I do the best I can. There's no way I'll ever be the best swordsman in the group, so my contribution is going to be helping build the school and getting the curriculum in order.

People are often flakes within HEMA--I think of it as HEMA Flake Syndrome (HFS). It's possible they only have TRHFS (Temporary Recurrent Hema Flake Syndrome) as opposed to THFS (Terminal HEMA Flake Syndrome). I'd try to get in touch with them again and find out what happened before you write them off aas options.

Still, sucks when that happens.

It's just this is the second time they've flaked over something. The first time, ok, his boss said he had to stay late. But still, it doesn't bode well as a pattern. I'm not upset, but I have things I could do with my time.
