School Tournaments

Postby Steven H » Tue Nov 15, 2011 3:36 pm

This past Thursday, we held our first school tournament. The matches were organized round robin style, and the winner was the person with the fewest hits at the end of all the matches.

Fighters included:
"Proper" Josh Conway
Bill Frisbee
Chris Stetson
Andy Rosequist
Sarah Hagler
Josh Watson

Proper Josh won the tournament with only four hits against him, and having won all his matches.

Video?

Was there any way that hits were counted "for," or was it only against? How did this affect the character of the fights?

Nope, insufficient staff. Though I want to for next time.

Counted for to break ties. But that didn't come up.

No where near as much as I'd hoped. I think we'd done it little enough that my guys simple didn't adapt to the rules.

Cheers,

The next Free Fencing Night is December 8th. We will hold our tournament with one-hit elimination this time.

The Format will be Single-elimination brackets. Each match will be to one hit. If there is a double then both are eliminated.

I'm gonna use the rules posted by Vincent Le Chevalier here.

Probably in February.
