lf longsword partners in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Postby announakis » Tue Jun 09, 2015 4:15 am

I recently moved to Halifax, Canada and found no club practicing the good old longsword around.

If you read this and are willing to get together once or twice a week to practice some drills and some freeplay, please reply to this message or message me directly through this forum.
I have been practicing for about 2 years in 2 different organizations in Brisbane, Australia (Collegium in Armis then Australian College of Arms) and very briefly in Dijon, France (De taille et d'estoc). I am looking for controlled and technical practice of the art, I am not interested in brutal and sloppy longsword practice we see only too often. If you are experienced I would gladly learn from you. If you are a complete noob, I would gladly learn from you too while teaching you what I already know.

all the best

Hey!
Good to see that someone here is getting my bottle to the sea!
I kinda lost hope after all this time

I have practiced and learned German tradition mostly but I do not mind other traditions
Are you with a club in halifax? Can you please pm me the details of your meetings? Cheers!

I am told Beau Brock of AEMMA is starting a chapter in Halifax.

He is an excellent fencer, and teacher and I can personally vouch for him.

I am glad to be useful Arnaud,

I am honestly happy to see more and more Canadians training with the sword, as well as an increasing interest in HEMA and its practice. A good teacher makes all the difference.

Perhaps if fate wills it, we will meet at an event sometime in the future.
