Thank you for the welcome Mike.
If anyone is ever in Atlanta please drop by. I know that we'll learn something from you dropping by. We would love to meet one and all.

Great to hear about a new study group. I'm located in Decatur. When and where do you meet?

Re: Welcome to our new Atlanta Study Grioup
We meet in midtown Atlanta at Unit 2 Fitness. It's close to the Krispy Kreme on Ponce. (Such a dangerous dangerous place to be close too!!)
We try to meet every Saturday at about 3.30 and go until about 5.30 or 6. The group is still very new so we're slowing working our way through Meyer's work, and using Mair every now and then as well. Longsword is our predominate focus but a friend and I mess about with the Dussack also.
What is it that you study and whereabouts?

Re: Welcome to our new Atlanta Study Grioup
Awesome! I'm going to be out of town for the next couple of weeks, but I will try to make it out for a visit as soon as I can.
Most of my formal training has been in Italian fencing (foil, sabre, epee) through the San Jose Fencing Masters Program, but my main interest is in early 17th century Italian rapier. I just moved to the area last summer, and so far I've visited a couple of the local groups - SCA (which I'm pretty active in), Schola St. George, the Emory Fencing club, and also a couple of modern foil tournaments.
I don't really know much about Longsword, but it is definitely something that I would enjoy learning

You are more than welcome. Just let me know before you come in case something comes up that causes no class that week.
I noticed you do Capoferra on your blog. My family got me a translation of his manual for christmas. I really like it.

Tomorrow I'm afraid we're not training. One of those days when everyone has life interfering
Next Saturday we are back to regular schedule though.
